As the holiday season approaches, protect yourself against respiratory viruses!

The vaccination campaign against respiratory viruses started on October 7 in our region! You can book your appointment now to enjoy the holiday celebrations with peace of mind and protect your loved ones during this festive season.

Why get vaccinated before the holidays?

Respiratory viruses, such as the flu and COVID-19, spread quickly. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent complications, especially for groups considered vulnerable or at higher risk:

• People living in long-term care homes (CHSLDs) or private seniors’ residences, or other congregate living settings with a high proportion of elderly and vulnerable people;
  • People aged 60 years and older (COVID-19);
  • People aged 75 years and older (Flu);
  • People who are immunocompromised, on dialysis, or living with a chronic disease;
  • Pregnant women and parents of babies under six months old;
  • Healthcare workers;
  • Adults living in remote or isolated communities.
• To get this vaccine, note that at least six months must have elapsed since the last dose. 
• Certain groups will also be able to receive the pneumococcal vaccine.

Appointments are required and can be made through Clic Santé or by calling 1-877-817-5279. Please note that it is possible to receive both the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine at the same vaccination time.
