Coronavirus (COVID-19): Instructions for visitors
Regular visits
- From 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., daily for visitors. Family members can visit at anytime.
- There is no age restriction. However, some preparations may be required for children visiting a hospitalized parent.
Visits - Special cases
Pediatrics
- The parents are allowed at all times.
- Special arrangements can be made for one of them to always stay the night with their child.
- Other visitors must comply with the regular visiting hours.
Intensive care
- Visitors must be age 12 and over.
- From 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., daily for visitors. Family members can visit at anytime.
Emergency
- One support person at a time.
- From 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., daily for visitors. Family members can visit at anytime.
- Both parents are allowed to be present for young children.
Day surgery
- At all times on the day of the procedure.
- One support person at a time.
- Both parents are allowed to be present for young children.
Birth pavilion (Mother-child centre)
- Two accompanying persons (18 years and older) are permitted at all times.
- Visits permitted at any time for siblings.
- Postpartum visits will resume on March 28: 1 to 8 p.m.
- Maximum of two visitors at a time (excluding the two accompanying persons)
- No children under 12 years old (except siblings)
Palliative care
- There are no restrictions on the number of visitors or time of day.
- Adjustments can be made to accommodate the patient’s friends and relatives.
Important
All visitors must comply with any procedures in effect on hospital-acquired infections. Avoid visiting the hospital if you or another visitor has a fever, the flu, diarrhea or a contagious disease. Postpone your visit for a few days.
Services available
We offer patients and visitors several services to make their time at the hospital easier and more pleasant.
Gift shop
Boutique Une petite pensée, located on the ground floor, carries a range of gifts, newspapers, magazines and sweets. Business hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Spiritual care team
A team of spiritual care professionals is available three days a week. Speak to the nursing staff in your care unit if you’d like a priest to visit you in your room or if you want to spend time in the chapel. If you are not Catholic and you’d like to see a minister of your faith, our spiritual care professionals will take the necessary steps to honour your request.
TV rental
The TV rental service is available daily. The fees are payable directly to the rental service manager.
Automated teller machine
An ATM is accessible at all times. It is located in the lobby on the ground floor, near Emergency.
Telephone and incoming calls
You can receive phone calls in your room. However, remember that other users share your room who are waiting for or recovering from treatment or surgery. To maintain a quiet and restful environment, incoming calls are prohibited between 10 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
To speak to you, your loved ones can dial 450-371-9920, followed by your room number. You will be billed for long distance calls.
The use of mobile phones and laptops with WiFi is strictly prohibited in the hospital.
Food
Meals
The Dietetics department will serve meals in your room between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. All meals are prepared in accordance with nutrition guidelines.
Cafeteria
L’Estaminet cafeteria is located on the second floor, in Block A.
Monday to Friday: 7:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 2:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Weekends and statutory holidays: 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
