Visitors
Acute care and ambulatory care environments (Hospitals, CLSCs, etc.)
Considering that we are in a care environment, wearing a medical mask is strongly recommended as soon as you enter an acute care facility for persons who are 12 years old or over. On the other hand, wearing a medical mask in clinics, care units and waiting rooms continues to be mandatory.
It is also mandatory for persons who have symptoms similar to the flu, gastroenteritis or associated with COVID-19
Visitors and family care-givers
It is preferable to telephone the hospital concerned before going to visit a relative in order to check whether the unit has had an outbreak.
In units where there have been no outbreaks, visits are permitted in our hospitals according to the following procedures:
- One visitor at a time for a person hospitalized (excluding family caregivers), except for humanitarian reasons.
- Visiting hours are from 2 to 8 p.m.
- Two family caregivers at a time per 24-hour period can accompany a user, except for exceptions.
IMPORTANT: When there is an outbreak, or the epidemiological situation requires, visits to users can be curtailed. However, family caregivers and visits for humanitarian reasons are authorized.
CHSLD
Wearing a medical mask is no longer mandatory in these living environments. However, it continues to be mandatory for persons with symptoms resembling the flu, gastroenteritis of COVID-19. It is also mandatory in a care unit experiencing a outbreak.
Visitors and family caregivers
Family caregivers and visitors must rigorously respect the sanitary instructions in the living environment such as:
- Carrying out hand hygiene
- Do not visit if you have symptoms similar to the flu, gastroenteritis or COVID-19
IMPORTANT: Rules regarding visits may be adapted depending on an outbreak or the epidemiological situation. Follow the instructions posted in the entrance to the units or residents' rooms during such a situation.
